Is it time to update your Internet browser?

NEWER BROWSERS PROVIDE THE SECURITY YOU NEED

It really does matter which version of Internet browser you use at your organization. Best practices in the healthcare industry say that in order to maintain the highest levels of security for your patient data and remain HIPAA-compliant, you should be using a security-compliant internet browser, such as Internet Explorer 11 or above. Only newer browsers provide the level of security that today’s data transfers require.

Although downloading a new browser doesn’t cost anything, some of you may need to upgrade to a new operating system (OS), since older systems do NOT support newer browsers. For example, if you are still using Windows XP as your OS, you may be at risk. Microsoft no longer supports XP, and most organizations already have or are planning a move to one of the latest versions of Windows (7 or above).
